Grid Altar.png

The Altar's main use is to enchant items with Ambrosium Shards, causing the item to be improved in some way. Using an Altar does not involve a GUI, and instead requires interacting with the block. To use an Altar, an item that has an enchanting recipe must be right-clicked on the Altar, and it will be placed in the center of it. After an item is placed in the center, Ambrosium Shards must be right-clicked onto the Altar, making them appear as floating around the item. After a certain amount of Ambrosium Shards (determined by the recipe) are put onto the altar, it will cause the item to pop off of the block as the enchanted product, using up the Ambrosium Shards in the process. The item will not automatically go into a player's inventory, so the Altar must be stood near to obtain it. An Altar can hold a maximum of 16 Ambrosium Shards floating around it.

The Altar's second use is to repair items with the enchanting system. Tools can be placed in the center, and the enchanting process can be used to repair the item using Ambrosium Shards.

To retrieve Ambrosium Shards from the Altar, a player can right-click the block with their hand, causing one Ambrosium Shard to pop out. This can be done until all the Ambrosium Shards that were placed on it are removed.

Usage[edit | edit source]

Altars are used to enchant items, which turns them into enchanted versions. Right-clicking the Altar with Ambrosium Shards will place them on the Altar. To enchant blocks and/or items, place them on the Altar via right-clicking, and it does not matter if Ambrosium Shards were added first or afterwards.

To remove shards, rightclick the Altar with anything other than possible enchantable blocks or items, and the shards will drop out. It can also repair both vanilla and mod items, although this function has been partially covered by the Anvil as of Minecraft 1.4.2.
