The Highlands Update, is an upcoming major update for the Aether II mod. It will focus primarily on the addition of several new major biomes and island terrain generation but includes additional other features such as NPC Angel villages, Moa genetics and more.[1][2]

Additions[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

  • Will be the first major release for the Aether II and nearly it's largest update ever[3][4][5]
  • Last time that world wipes will ever occur, multiplayer included[6]
  • Moa Genetics
  • Updated visual design, including new textures and block/mob models
  • More flora and fauna
  • Lots of new materials

World generation[edit | edit source]

  • Five new biomes[7]
    • Highlands
    • Enchanted/Irradiated Forests
    • Arctic Peaks
    • Forgotten Highlands
    • Magnetic Hills
  • Three new very sizable dungeons[8][9]
    • They will be a major source of equipment/loot and tie into quests and/or merchants[10][11]
  • Many more generated structures
  • NPC Angel villages

Mobs[edit | edit source]

  • New NPCs, such as Angels and Edison
  • Several new surface, underground and marine mobs[12][13]
    • Rock based dungeon mob[14]
    • Ent mob[15]
    • Ore Turtle underground mob[16][17]
      • Attracted to the ore their shell is made out of[18]
    • Bat/Dog underground mob[19][20]
      • Can be tamed and alert players of hostile mobs[21]
